WOMEN-CORE Women in Construction scientific Research


Background information 

WOMEN in COnstruction Scientific REsearch, identified by the acronym WOMEN-CORE is a project of the Sixth Framework Programme of the European Community for research, technological development and demonstration activities.

WOMEN-CORE contributes to the activities supported by the Work Programme for Specific Targeted Research Projects aimed at improving European competitiveness and meeting the needs of society or Community policies.

The WOMEN-CORE project started officially in April 2006 with a kick-off meeting in Bilbao and will run for 30 months, until September 2008. The project consortium of the project consists of six partners from five different countries.

The WOMEN-CORE project consists of a work plan incorporating six different work packages (WP). Each partner involved in the consortium will lead one work package. Work packages consist of different tasks coordinated by the task leaders from within the partners. As the project coordinator, LABEIN, is responsible to the Commission and co-ordinates all technical, financial and administrative aspects of the project.

The project is also supported by a Steering Committee (SC), a Scientific and Technical Committee (STC) and an Advisory Group (SG).
